The Foodist: New Year’s Day Surprise Quiche
Happy New Year! Rick wanted to use the mustard, garlic and honey rubbed pork roast, cabbage with Boursin cheese, and this amazing Marmalade. You simply must try this recipe for the foodist: New Years Day Surprise Quiche!
The interesting thing about this quiche is its polar attributes. It sweet and savory. It is good warm and cold. It is good as breakfast and as a simple dinner. Choose your own adventure!
INGREDIENTS
6 fresh eggs
1 deep dish pie crust
1 cup pork loin with glaze
Pork glaze recipe
1/4 cup mustard
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp honey
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp curry
2 oz gruyere cheese
1 cup chopped and cooked boursin glazed cabbage (see recipe here)
1 Tbsp Seville orange + fennel glaze
Salt and Pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix eggs in a bowl. Add in pork cooked with glaze or 2 Tbsp of glaze, cabbage, cheese, seville orange +. fennel glaze and salt and pepper.
When quiche base is fully mixed, add to deep dish pie base.
Bake for 45 minutes (can be baked with a wet towel to circulate moisture)
Let cool for 15 minutes. Serve warm or not! Prepoare to be delighted!
