Welcome to Mezzacello Urban Farm! This is our standard Sign Up page for parents to schedule kids to attend one of our amazing Applied STEM Urban Ag Summer Camps. Please complete the form below and choose the date you are interested in.

Summer Camp Requirements

  1. Parents MUST provide lunch.
    • Mezzacello Urban Farm cannot provide lunches.
    • Snacks (pretzels or Chips, Sweet and unsweetened tea and water are provided.
  2. Students MUST wear sterilizable boots or shoes.
    • Rubber Boots are preferred.
    • There are three pair made available to those in need.
  3. Students MUST wear PANTS, no SHORTS allowed.
    • Older clothing is preferred as students will be working on a farm with animals.
  • Mezzacello Urban Farm is a working farm! There will be mud and insects. We use state of the art mosquito treatment and control insects with animals and natural pest predators. But OFF or other brands are welcome.
  • Mezzacello Urban Farm is in downtown Columbus on the near east side. Address is below:
  • Mezzacello Urban Farm will require parent pickup and drop-off.
    • No child leaves without an adult at the front gate to leave with.
    • 20th Street is a busy street between Broad and Long Streets.
    • Be prepared to escort your child back to a vehicle.
  • Mezzacello Urban Farm is equal parts tech and traditional farming.
    • There will be data, computers, renewable power systems, robots
    • There will be nature, gardens, poultry, rabbits, fish, and insects

FREE Summer workshops at Mezzacello Urban Farm:

Urban Farm 101: BioTech and Animal Health: (Camp Limit: 16) Jul 31-Aug 4, 9:00 -4:00

  • This camp is FREE to Columbus Middle School and High School Kids
  • Learning about animal care, integration, technology, growing food, soil regeneration and general safety on an urban farm.
  • This will include the basics of care for chickens, ducks, quail, rabbits, fish, frogs, crickets and the microbiome in the soil. Robots and sensors for automating systems and managing these populations with an emphasis on Applied STEM, teamwork, and fun games and competitions.

BioEngineering: BioEngineering and Mechanics: (Camp Limit: 16) August 7-11, 9:00 -4:00

  • This camp is FREE to Columbus Middle School and High School Kids
  • Learning the basics of how technology and problem-solving skills go hand in hand on an urban farm.
  • This will include building systems, cages, gates, doors, and power generation systems from sources available at Mezzacello. Basic power tools and a safe and accessible introduction to renewable energy systems will be part of this curriculum.

Urban Farm 101: (Camp Limit: 16) August 21-25, 9:00-4:00

  • This camp is FREE to Columbus Middle School and High School Kids
  • Learning the basics of setting up systems for optimizing soil health and food growth in a densely populated urban environment.
  • This will include robotics and systems design, raised beds and creating microclimates with vegetation, screening, and water purification and collection systems.

BioEngineering 101: (Camp Limit: 16) August 28-September 1, 9:00-4:00

  • This camp is FREE to Columbus Middle School and High School Kids
  • Learning the basics of how technology and problem-solving skills go hand in hand on an urban farm.
  • This will include building systems, cages, gates, doors, and power generation systems from sources available at Mezzacello. Basic power tools and a safe and accessible introduction to renewable energy systems will be part of this curriculum.
